Mark from the "mighty", nay, "legendary", Kiss The Bride here. Remember...we were f**king rubbish and our drummer was ( and probably still is) called Stupid. Anyway, introductions over....being that I practically lived in Madisons for about 5 years I thought it might be nice to try and remember....well anything really. So I'll start and you chip in where appropriate.... 5 random memories: 1. Being physically ejected on my first visit for stealing the managers pint...while he was standing next to me. 2. Puking in a toilet cubicle. Flushing said toilet while still kneeling only to have a whole evenings worth of nuts, piss and puke flow onto my head moments before I passed out in said excrement. Oh the hideousness of it all....played havoc with my eyeliner I can tell you. Woken up by the toilet door landing on my head because my none-too-coherent mates kicked the wrong side of the door and knocked it off its hinges. Happy days. 3. Me and The Mansel Storme loonies breaking into the back bar and helping ourselves to...well...pretty much everything. 4. Kirsten & Ailsa - whatever happened to them? 5. Being skint and yet somehow always getting plastered.....oh that's right.....I used to nick your pints while you were dancing to Black Betty.....arf. Submarine missions I think we called it....I'd say sorry, but it meant I was always forced to drink snakebite and black you weirdos. If you live in london you can see my band Jane Air gigging regularly - www.janeair.com

Not nearly as er 'vivid' as yours Marky....but here goes... Always carrying my f*gs in the side of my cowboy boots... Watching my sister launch herself down the top stairs as she tried to jump Hideo and nearly decapitated herself on the drop down ceiling in the process.... and meeting my gorgeous other half in there 11 years ago after I sent my sister over to chat him up for me!

MEMORIES?? I've spent the last 10 years trying to forget them.....but I'm sure I'll be reminded of a few on the 22nd!! argghhh However... 1. It was harder to find mirror space to do your makeup in the men's toilet than it was in the females. (and afterall every guy had been in the females toilets at some point!!) 2. The DJ's deciding to play cheezy tunes like MC Hammer for a laugh then discovering more people were dancing to it than to some of the rock tunes!! Needless to say this ceased!! 3. The Gay, Lesbian and Latin American events that used to go on downstairs. 4. The kitsch 80's decor...it was worse when the walls were spinning! 5. And my own personal favourite, getting free beer for months from Michelle behind the bar because I gave her an earing!

memories .. let me think - i can remember Hideo and I had a few girls on the go at the same time in different parts of the club quite often - ha ha. Can I make a quick confession? I think I cheated on every girl i was out with at Maddies (ha ha). I remember a few bands played the club too - can anyone remember who they were? One thing - I don't remember getting into a fight there, pretty unusual that. It did have it's fair share of good looking girls that's for sure - aren't Rock 'chicks' just the best?

Bands at Madisons? The only one I can remember was those daft f*ckers who sang that "our business is your pleasure..." Pleasurable? I think not...
PS: Vinnie - still go the well manicured nails? PPS: Billy? Not the Billy that hung about with the mingers surely? Mr Nae eyes?

Allo,
well I remember: Crazyhead Cheap 'n' Nasty and er....nope....that's it.
Never really liked it as a music venue...
I'm actually a bit gutted because I may not be able to make it up for the reunion this time round (although I'm still working on it)....and frankly, if I'm not passed out in a corner, covered in drool by 10pm, I can't really see how it's going to feel the slightest bit authentic....

I think we should all keep it to friendly banter ... It must have been your 21st that I had drank a case of becks before we reached the English border- then cadged a few to get me to Newcastle! I was mashed!

I think we should all keep it to friendly banter ... I also think anybody who posts should use their names that they were known by at the club, and even better have little avatars of themselves...or submit a photo for the gallery! I have no idea who Em is....but they seem to know me!! It's just no fair!! (and my memory of 10 years ago and folks names are really fuzzy!) Marky, Tigger and I have made it obvious who we are, I think it's obvious who Rawkchick1 is (eh?...Julie) and I guess TinyRawkchick is Susan. And I'll make a wild stab that NeedMoreBeer is Max! And I've just worked out which of the Billy's I knew is this Billy! (Helped by your photo on the site!....urgh!) Hey Max! Get that Gallery sorted...it's loading worse than ever!...oh and don't use Frontpage....it's pish!

So many memories so little time.... I remember meeting what I thought was the love of my life in Madisons (although unfortunatley he wasn't!) the whole eyes meeting across a dancefloor routine. Sheesh. I also remember most vividly the black and white pic on the wall half way up the stairs, was it Victor Mature? donno why that sticks in my mind... I'm looking forward to trying to recognise old faces, most of them only known by nick-name eg "bandana man" "Jon bon joby" etc ;D Is Rodney going? the fastest air-guitarist in town... PS Hiya again Tigger *waves*

Those were the days...nasty wine at home whislt getting ready with all the girls and driving parent nuts with v. loud Aerosmith / Poison / Kiss, before hitting the Bull for a few Southern Comforts at about 11, off to Madisons until chucking out time, then down to the Cooler, which I think was open until 4? 5? and then....off to Millionnaires until 6am. And that was just a Friday!!! Sleep most of Saturday, occasional late afternoon trip to town to Virgin, Boots (for more hair spray), home and tea infront of Brookside, before starting above routine all over again!

Vinne: I agree with you on the Maddies name thing, as I dunno who 'Em' is?
Em: You gotta come clean and let us know who you are?
Billy: I think you are right about that bar maid as I've never heard of free beer in exchange for a feather?

Back to the memories.... Amazingly I have plenty of em even though I was hammered the whole time I went to Madisons! 1. This is the top memory and it's Sy face down on the dance floor arms and legs splayed like a starfish and all the punters are just dancing around his drunken corpse. His white shirt is covered in cowboy boot prints and the DJ at the time is calling for the bouncers to remove the him and by the time we stopped pissing ourselves laughing he has been carted off by the bouncers bound for the exit. ;D 2. Mids absolutely pished out of his head walking around shaking knob in hand one Xmas Madisons making that stupid "Woo Woo" sound. I dunno how he ever got away with that! 3. The service was a bit shoddy one night so I decided that it would be wise to pour my own pint. I leaned over and filled one up and no one saw me or so I thought so I buggered off without paying. 10 mins later the bouncers lifted me off the dance floor in the MIDDLE of my GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS poncy dancing, and I was unceremoniously ejected while I was still quite sober - I felt cheated! 4. Julie, I also remember Anne hurling herself off the top step on the stairs and rugby tackling Hideo. Good job they were both steamin! 5. This one isn't a fond memory, it's more of a nightmare - Vinne on the dance floor doing a strip tease down to his G-String that had the studs on the inside - scary! Apparently he has threatned to wear said item on the 22nd! 6. This one is a post Madisons memory - Julie, Susan and Jackie took me to Millionaire's after Maddies one night on the premise that it sold booze till 6am. I was a fresh faced country bumpkin from the west at that time and I was in no way ready for my first Gay Bar! I looked like a total ponce back then so I count myself lucky that I got out unscathed! 7. Kenny the Tongue's tonge always making an appearance when we dragged girls over to see the lenght of it! 8. One of the mingers who will have to remain nameless for dirty dancing with some sexy lady and getting a stiffy on the dance floor and being too drunk to realise it! ;D I'm sure there's more, but those'll do for now!

Bands - Walk On Fire - well who could've missed Alan with that hair next time I saw him was on the telly in Catherine Zeta Jones band.
I remember Cheap n Nasty cos they all came to my (30th shh!) Birthday party in Madisons n Nasty Suicide stood at the bar most of the night chatting and then when they played they didn't sign any autographs and the Livingston glam mob were well upset they hadn't come to my party. Hell there was only 500 odd there we could've squeezed some more in.
There's a few of us who'll remember peeps like Gary Moore, Rose Tattoo, Diamondhead and the Tygers of Pang Tang etc who played in the original Playhouse club before it was Madisons!
Oh and Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme came up to the Madisons bar after their gig and all the girls stood hopefully around the bar all night.
Vikki - bandana man that'll be Vinnie then!! Yes I still have the gstring photos, will bring them to my birthday party in Brum in case he shows up........
DJ Ian's kissogram in Madisons - me, Sky, Karen, Isobel, Jennifer and Michelle in not a lot of clothes plus a stawberry cheesecake - now why aren't those photos on the site!
