What 12"? Is it 'Long Way Home' ? If so..that is just credited to Trixx. Are you sure they changed their name? Mind you the track on the 'B' side, Scream City should have been credited to Whitesnake as it was the most blatant rip-off of Crying in the Rain ...ever! AND not half as good! 'A' side was crap as well though! I do remember the Lixx ep and the Debutante demo.

The name change came after Long Way Home. I most likely still have the Metal Hammer somewhere where they explain the rationale behind it all.

Steevo (as he was known) had some hilarious/brilliant Lixx videos - live etc - in one they came on and played a Gary Glitter Song first - the Aberdeen crowd's apathy and disbelief is pure TV Gold - wee Joe had a Golf peaked hat on etc and was getting heckled by some sheep-shagging tuechters all gig,I thought Lixx's belief in all things Glam against such odds was to be admired - the thing is later on they had a secret weapon in Nazz who unlike quite a lot of Glammies could actually play very well - still one of the most amazing guitarists I've heard (who never 'made' it).I remember Steve lending him a Led Zep box set - he never really got into Zep up until then - he was more a Sabbath/Damned fan - anyway the next week he tore thru about ten Zep songs (Steve's jaw hit the floor - then we ran thru them) Nazz had just picked them out by ear in a week - he could have gone somewhere that fella. When The Sons had Hid and Nazz in the same band I reckon we had the best unsigned Rock guitarist and bassist in Scotland - they both really looked the part too. Some of the demos circa '95 are pretty good even tho' i say so myself. Speaking of Trixx - I've got that 12" EP somewhere and seem to remember a pretty good track on the B side.. I know Nazz would love a copy of that Compilation CD Lixx were on. You hear people talking about Pretty Boy Floyd,Bang Tango etc - being good Glam bands - was anyone at The BulletBoys gig at The venue? They bloody tore the roof of the place IMO. What about when Wolfsbane got their arse well and truly kicked by Sven Gali a few years later?

I remember the Sven Gali /Wolfsbane gig very well. Still rate the Sven Gali performance as one of the best gigs I've ever seen. Really good shit.

Yeah - Trixx did become Trixx Federation and some time after their London move became known as "The Federation" - got some of their gig flyers somewhere They were affectionately??? known as the FEDS (hargh hargh). As for "making it big" they were quite big in their own gardens but does being the house band in the Royal Standard in Walthamstow count as "Making it" ? - answers on a postcard Ha Ha glam - didn't ya just love it - nowadays its known as "cross-dressing" ha ha

Wez used to ask for a light for his fag by asking for "flame" - hysterical! After a few pints of pink panther in the Pres Hall he would always get the response of "eh?"
The gents toilets always reeked of Hard Rock Hair Spray... you could put a fly into tailspin with that stuff!
Yep... my memories of those days are hard rock hairspray, glittery scarves from Pie in the Sky, Pink Panther, Snakebite and pernod and blackcurrant! Hence the reason my memory isnt that great!

Ace! Anyone remember the intro to one of Trixx's tunes that involved Wes (singer) spinning round, lowering his Dave Lee Roth shades (ski visors) and saying "Kiss Me"? Priceless!

oh how I laughed with all the stuff on trixx (jon bon Forsyth anyone?) lixx (kinda nice lads) , debutante (men in wigs shock !). Have to say, there was a fella who was permanently asking folk if he was going bald in them thar days..you know who you are...and guess what ? it came true.despite all reassurances we gave. wee shame really. what I HAVE to say is at least they all had the balls to try and give it a go, and it was all bloody good fun too. all that in fighting ("here, hold my wig" being the quote of the century from one drummer as he launched himself into a fight with another band), bitching and general shenigans. oh my youth (gone wild, naturally)....

Cheers! Yes we did have the balls to make a go of it...and they were great days indeed! Those days at the Venue are just a distant memory now...but still great memories all the same. All that 'in' fighting...the rock scene wouldn't have been the same without it! AND that fight with the 'wiggy' drummer.....we were only talking about that the other day!....If I remember correctly it was in the Subway in the Cowgate, not with another band though, it was some nutter who was looking for trouble, ...absolutely hilarious....put Spinal Tap to shame! It also involved 'Wiggy', who was by this time 'Wigless' battering the 'nutter' in the face with a full can of Red Stripe which must have been a bit painful...if the sound was anything to go by! I've been shit scared of people in wigs ever since! What about all those bus journeys to Donington? They were better than the gig itself! Any memories anyone? p.s some of us do still play Metal.......musicianship is a bit better now though.....I hope Milly 'Never new bald heids would be so popular' FMR

I have the most awesome Trixx story..
I remember the pres hall very well..
A certain very glammed up member of Debutante (and maybe another band that sounds bit like gunmetal jacket) had two classic catch phrases..The first one was "Mother?" done in the exact same style as Anthony Perkins from Psycho..often during the course of the evening he would turn to someone and Say "Mother?" or stand outside the mens loos in the PRES and Shout "MOTHER!" ...class..totally street..i loved that..
The other was 'Did you call me a spoon?' This question was done in the most deadpan way and completely random..At some point some kind of hmmm..how do I put it..slight feudy type thing may have started.. how serious it was well i doubt it..but 'Did you call me a spoon' was levied at a member of Trixx at some point..
3 or 4 weeks passed..I returned home to (6th form &) London on a bus..and Lo! got home to hear Trixx were playing at the Marquee..so off myself and my best rock chick matey Nikki Vincent (aka Vinnie Sixx to me) went to see them..
Not being one to pass up opportunities and to the utter confusement of Trixxxxxxxx we showered the stage with a catering sized bag of about 150 plastic spoons during their performance..
They didn't half look confused about that. We giggled ourselves stupid through our electric blue fishnets and cans of red stripe with straws in. Happy Daze.

Excellent! Knew you would remember that story about the 'spoons'. I've told people it many times and it's still as funny as it was back then. 'Did you call me a ........spoon' also ended up on our 'thanks' list on our demo! Trixx claim they never got the connection though It was all in good fun. We were just jealous they got a marquee gig! I can only imagine the reaction when it started raining spoons. Did you not get chased away by the roadies? Drawing moustaches and glasses on the posters was also a highlight. Milly
