Hello all ! Wow - a Madisons reunion Wish I could make it, but I live in london, have just spent last weekend in Edinburgh & also coming back for Crimbo, so just can't manage another trip this year I doubt any of you will remember me, but I know who most of you are You may know a couple of my friends though - Hazel (who was seeing John Ferguson for a few years) and Linda (long black dread extensions) I moved to London about 5 and a half years ago, mainly for the social scene. Although im mostly into 80s pop/newromantic & electro stuff now, I still catch my old fave rock bands when they are in town. Have recently seen fasterPussycat, LAGuns & DefLeppard, to name but a few.... Anyhoo, back on topic, here are my memories of "that place"..... 1) Rodney 2) Always sitting in the same seats*/standing in the same space EVERY week (* delete as applicable) 3) The DJ's & their friends' scary syncronised dance routines ;D 4) The excitement when rockstars graced the club with their presence. The ones that immediately spring to mind are MindFunk & Extreme. Oh, and Mansell Storme 5) The anger you felt when someone, ESPECIALLY when not a regular, STOLE your seat/standing place ! 6) Sara, Alice & Hannah. My god, they mustve been about 14 years old 7) Julie & Elaine (are you on here girls ?) 8) thinking that bloke (Gordon ?) was really Tyla, and also saying to him "Happy New Year Tyla" one year... 9) Harrassing the DJ's for months, to stick on a couple of "alternative" tunes - e.g Ministry, Nirvana, Janes Addiction etc, and EVENTUALLY winning ! 10) Getting there early to watch people arriving, whilst saying to your mates "ooh, that over there with the big hair and make-up, if it's male, it's mine !!!" Erm, thing Ive said enough now, but if I think of any more.......

Vinne: I agree with you on the Maddies name thing, as I dunno who 'Em' is? Em: You gotta come clean and let us know who you are? Billy: I think you are right about that bar maid as I've never heard of free beer in exchange for a feather? ****************************************** Cmon Max ya dizzy f*ck - its Mikey Hunter. Who else admired those vests so much (not) I'll see you on saturday with Mids and the c*nts and you can give me a wrist slapping... Mike. PS: And another thing - Rodney wasn't famous for his air guitar skills - it was his skills in snogging as many of the madisons burds as possible... Cheeky wee monkey ;D

heh heh ! And I thought it was only my lot that would come up with ridiculous nicknames !!! A couple more memories... * Pink Panthers & Blastaways ! * The gorgeous cloakroom bloke with the long brown curly hair * Gills legendary parties after Madisons, at her flat in Broughton Street. One week, the guest stars were - a few traffic cones, a workmans tent (!!) and erm, the police....

Erm, thing Ive said enough now, but if I think of any more....... Ha ha ha - ah the memories!!!. ;D Watching people takin' themselves WAY to seriously in the primping and preening stakes!!! Getting free double vodkas (and sometimes trebles!!) from gary the barman the whole time I went coz he got off with my mate (still dunno if it woz hush money or if he was actually pleased about it!!!). Playing "guess the sex" and p***ing myself laughing when one of my mates "fancy men" turned out to be female!!! Mansell guys - rock stars!!!! only in bradford and only in their own heads lol!!! Totally agree 'bout the "own areas" thing. Chris used to get VERY upset if anyone stole our corner at the bar (it meant he had to move to slag off the people on the dancefloor!!!) (wonder if hes still using the SNP battlecry!!! - uncle puff where r u??) Spooks doing her "dancing queen routine" and trying to win the dance-off with stuart wiggy's burd every week (those were the days!!). Can't believe you'se remembered rodney and forgot GUS!!!! weebles wobble but they don't fall down!!! GOD TAKE THE FOUNDATION OFF!!!!!!. Wot ever happened to teuchter!!! is he still plodding along in greyfriars? r any of the mansell guys still around (I hears bry went to the us and got deported and mansell was a primary school teacher - the mind boggles!!! Kathi xxx (aka the wee quiet shy blonde one that palled about with spooks, fiona frae dollar, sharon drummond frae tullibody, chris frae dalkieth etc etc) (won't remember me coz I never did anything silly or spectacular - apart from posting novellets on chat boards lol)

I hope the DJ's forget to play that stupid stripper theme, the thought of the same blokes stripping down to their undies 15 years on does nowt for me!! Me abd Christine's favourite Madisons memory was dancing with the singer and drummer from Thunder.....donno if they were actually aware that we were dancing dancing with them though!! ;D I also remember falling over a lot, especially whilst trying to dance. One time I did this spectacular backwards fall and took out about 6 folk who were dancing behind me Pity we can't actually have the same venue, I could re-enact that and my falling down the stairs routine....

Hello all Most of you prob wont remember me as when I went to madisons I was only 14-16yrs old, so used to keep a low profile just so i didnt get caught! I remember Rodney, that man is famous! Also Fergus (and buzz Jim). As Playgirl said earlier, the 'legendary' parties at Gills Broughton St flat (hmmm, actually, how come it was always me who had to invite everyone we fancied?), and the shenanagins that went on in kitchens/under tables etc whilst we sent Fergus to the 24hr garage (thanx Gus, owe you a pint) The various 'rock stars' that occasionally turned up! I remember trying to chat up Jason from Mind Funk, which didnt work very well as the ugly one seemed to like me (or at least, he wanted to swap shirts) I'm sure the DJs must have hated us as we asked for The Beyond every week, even though we knew they didnt have any! awww, would love to go to the reunion but living in London now and have to go home at xmas so cant do both hopefully if it goes well, there'll be another one in a few months!

"Sara, Alice & Hannah. My god, they mustve been about 14 years old"
Yes they were when they first started coming, and from Mary Erskines! And that's how I first met Vinnie on the very first night he attended standing at the side of the dancefloor 'cos Alice made me go and chat him up for her - and oh so charming Vinnie made my whole month by telling me I was so much nicer and that he'd rather talk to me!
Hm I felt so bad about cradle snatching that I never did take him up on the offer.
At my 30th party in Madisons they reminded me I was still old enough to be their Mum now that they were 15. Bloody youth!
Mansell Storm - Morti saw him buying a sofa with his fiancee last month - very rock n roll - he's still got his long hair but is looking very gaunt. (better than a beer belly I spose!)

Sorry I've not been off the board for a few days...I've been off to Palma....lovely, historic place and I would recommend it to anybody! I even saw crazy Zoe from Emmerdale....and 'possibly' Penelope Cruz!! Yummy......
Anyway, the 'Pretty Boys' Photo on the Madisons site is me and Alan (Hall I think!). Alan was last seen being a barman in the Haymarket bar, and Ryries beforehand! I used to bump into loads when I was still in Edinburgh! Does anybody know what he is up to these days?

" Julie, I also remember Anne hurling herself off the top step on the stairs and rugby tackling Hideo. Good job they were both steamin! " Shit - I can't believe that one has come back to haunt me! In my defense I can say that at least we're still mates! In fact, we went to the pub last week.
